Kennel Kalexas
Is co-owned by Kjersti Jensen and Kathrine Gunstad. They both have long experience in show-/ and working dogs.
The Flatcoated Retriever is a smart, funny, loving dog and a wonderful companion for the hunter as well as a family with small children. They are up for everything you have to offer! Kjersti and Kathrine’s philosophy is to breed an overall healthy, good looking and good working dog.
Kennel Kalexas has a small breeding program, where the quality of the breed is highly valued. The bloodlines are from the old English working dogs and the breed of Kalexas will continue to hold the high standards required.
A Flatcoated Retriever should be able to be a show winner one day, and a working champion in the hunting fields the next.

Kjersti Jensen (Founder of the kennel)
Kjersti has always been surrounded by dogs. From her early childhood she has known that four-legged family members would be a big part of her everyday life. Both dogs and horses had been an overall interest since she was a little girl.
Growing up, she has had several different breeds, but the Flatcoated Retriever entered her life to stay in 1996. Kjersti bought her first Flatcoated Retriever in 2000 from Anne Berith Waskaas at Kennel Rintillas, a lovely male by the name Rintillas Justin Time, and he was the beginning of her life with the Flatcoated Retrievers as we know it today.
Kjersti has been engaged in several disciplines within dog sports, and she aims to breed working dogs that are strong mentally with good health and nice exterior. Her dogs are well known in Norway and across Europe.
She has been a licensed NKK instructor since 1966, specializing in obedience, but is still constantly pursuing further education and eager to learn more about dogs on how to work and train for the best results possible.

Kathrine Gunstad
Kathrine’s family bought their first Flatcoated Retriever in 1995, and she has kept the passion for the breed ever since.
Her first own dog was CIE NUCH SEU(u)CH LT CH PLW-10 LTW-13 Heirofia`s Hot Chilli, born in 2005. He was her companion in the showring when she started off as a junior handler. He was the reason for her dedicated interest in dog shows.
Kathrine has held several positions in the Norwegian Retriever Club over the years, and is active at shows, working tests and rally obedience to list some of her main interests.
She loves the way a Flatcoated Retriever is up for everything! The perfect companion on a hike one day, a true worker the next day, and your best friend on the sofa every day.
Kathrine always keeps some of the dogs at her house in Porsgrunn, and at the moment she has two bitches staying at home.
